ACLS Provider

ACLS builds on the foundation of lifesaving basic life support (BLS) skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR.  This advance course highlights the importance of high-performance team dynamics and communication; systems of care; and recognition of and intervention in cardiopulmonary arrest, immediate post-cardiac arrest, acute dysrhythmia, stroke and ACS.

BLS Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers INITIAL

This BLS course is for first-timers who need CPR Training focusing on AHA guidelines and team performance.  It focuses on what healthcare providers need to know to perform high-quality CPR in a wide variety of settings.  

BLS, ACLS, or PALS Renewal - RQI Martinsville

(This notice is informational ONLY!) 

The Education Department will need to apply the 2025 AHA HeartCode Complete for BLS, ACLS and PALS renewal courses onto your LifeTalent - HealthStream account.  This can be done anytime prior to your due date.   

You must call or email DOE for this assignment.  We will no longer offer in-person BLS, ACLS or PALS Renewals. 

The live, in-person BLS, ACLS, PALS classes will be for INITIAL only.

What is HeartCode Complete?  With HeartCode complete, you complete an assigned module in HealthStream and then go to the mannequin/computer in Room 529, at your convenience, to do the skills check-off.  The computer talks you through the check-off and this will be available 24/7.  Please allow yourself quiet time to work on the course.  However, you should be able to log in and out as much as necessary to complete. 

If you do not see the course displayed within 3 business days after your first call or email, then please let someone in DOE know.

Please note:  If you fail to complete the course by the deadline, we will not reassign the course to you as the course does have a cost associated with it.  You will have to pay for and take a course outside the facility.  Non-Sovah employees may pay to take the course.  Please check with an educator for pricing.

PALS Provider (2020)

PALS course is designed to provide pediatric healthcare providers with the knowledge and skills to efficiently and effectively manage critically ill infants and children and help improve outcomes.  This course is aimed at professionals who must be credentialed as a requirement for their jobs.

Study materials are required for this course.  Please make arrangements for them to delivered or picked up.

We are a training site for Advanced Cardiac Life Support classes through the Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist training center.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support courses are offered at our training site through the Carilion Clinic training center.
